Countdown widget for iPhone
Put the days until an event on your iPhone
Create the birthday, anniversary, holiday, or personal milestone in Loomday, then keep its countdown visible on your Home Screen or Lock Screen.
Loomday supports Gregorian, Chinese Lunar, Hebrew, Islamic, Indian, and Persian dates, so a recurring day can land on the correct Gregorian date each year.
1. Add the day in Loomday
Open Loomday and create a day. Add a name, choose the original calendar and date, select whether it repeats, and turn on a local reminder if you want advance notice. You can also attach a photo and a short story for each year.
2. Add a Home Screen widget
- Touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen until the apps begin to move.
- Tap Edit, then Add Widget.
- Search for Loomday and choose a widget size.
- Place the widget, then tap Done.
Apple's current widget instructions also explain how to add, edit, and remove Home Screen widgets.
3. Add a Lock Screen widget
Touch and hold the Lock Screen, choose Customize, select the Lock Screen, and tap the widget area. Choose Loomday, add the countdown, and save the result. The available space and widget layout depend on the Lock Screen configuration.
4. Keep more than one event visible
Use multiple widgets or create a Smart Stack if you want several apps to share one area. Inside Loomday, your upcoming days remain in one list even when only one countdown is shown in a particular widget.
Why use Loomday instead of a manual day count?
A manual count becomes inconvenient for repeating events and non-Gregorian calendars. Loomday recalculates the current year's date, schedules reminders locally, and updates the widget without requiring an account. Your days, photos, and stories stay on your iPhone.
If Loomday does not appear in the widget gallery immediately after installation, open the app once and create a day, then return to the widget picker.
Loomday is free for iPhone, works offline, and includes Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets.
